Great door, but make sure you get the right size... (there are 4, not 3 sizes)
I tried to order one from Amazon, but I need the Large/Tall, not the Large, and there were no Large/Talls (in white) reasonably priced (so I had to order from PetSafe directly). I am posting a review here for the benefit of those with Large Dogs... just because this door says "Large" realize there are large dogs and LARGE dogs... also not-so-large dogs that have long legs (like my Boxer). Please make sure (for the sake of your beloved dog) that you get the proper sized doggy door. There is no flap/door difference between the "Large" and the "Large/Tall" except how high up the opening is due to the riser... the "Large" has a 4" Riser and the "Large/Tall" has an 8" Riser... you add the riser plus the flap to get the clearance which should be no-lower then your dogs withers (inches from shoulders to the floor). 4" riser + 16" flap = 20"... most Boxers have 22"-24" withers when full grown and a 20" clearance means they'll be smashing their spines every time when they go through a "Large" doggy door. The "Large/Tall" may have an 8" riser, but at least the withers clearance is 24" so better for longer-legged dogs like a Boxer (and possibly your large dog). My Boxer puppy is only 5 months old and already stands 20" at the withers (and has 12" of clearance under his chest)... no way am I getting the Large... it's Large/Tall for my Boxer. Please double-check the withers of your dog before ordering and get the right sized door... realize there is an identical door in the "large/tall" category that gives your dogs spine an extra 4" of clearance. The attached picture is of my 5-month old Boxer using the door... he will get larger, so the door will seem smaller then. 2018: Post-edit... it's 2018, my Boxer is full grown, 24" at this withers, in his prime and 3 years old... he is still using his "Large/Tall" doggie door every day with much glee... the "Large" door would not have been tall enough for daily use, very, VERY happy with the Large/Tall size of this door. I attached two more pictures to show a FULL GROWN 3yo Boxer with the Large-Tall door... one showing he can look over the door flap, 2nd in use, he just ducks his head, but his back has room to clear the door... the riser is no problem for a Boxer. *As a side note, when this review was initially written in 2015, The Large/Tall wasn't readily available and the XLarge wasn't listed, hence the header title. Times have changed, but the importance of getting the right sized door has not... measuring the withers of your dog and comparing it to the door size is still of utmost importance in any year. Best of luck to you and your canine companions!
