2018 F-150 XLT SUPERCREW 5.0L LOW BEAM REPLACEMENT
This review is specifically for the 2018 F-150 XLT. I have read through all the reviews regarding the H11 bulb and the truck. There are not many but some are misleading. So I am going to try and make this as clear and dumbed down as possible for anyone else who wants these bulbs (yes buy them)
-The H11 absolutely fits without any issue. The metal tabs that go into the housing to hold the bulb in place appear to be thicker and it takes a little more umph to twist the bulb but causes no damage. Line up the tabs with the correct size hole (2 smaller tabs and one large) and twist clockwise in or counter clockwise out. It should not take a lot of force as long as they are lined up
-you will absolutely need a larger protection cap to keep the weather out. The reason is because the entire nineo kit will not go into the headlight housing (see pic). It sticks out. There has been complaints on this. Not sure what was expected. Just buy the cheap 83mm cap (see pic) for like 10 dollars for the set and your done. problem solved
-easiest way to get to the bulb is through the wheel liner. there are youtube videos on this. One tip I will give is that it takes a bit of umph to get the pastic liner over the upper tabs that's along the fender flare section. you think that its going to break, but it will not. And it goes back on much easier than it came off
-The 6500k, 12000 lumen set that I purchased is almost completely white with a VERY VERY FAINT hint of blue. The light looks high end and not cheap. It absolutely spanks the OEM, really bright. In fact some might think they are too bright. But not this guy.
-Finally is the canbus deocoder. Do you need it?? Will your lights flicker? the answer is NO. Works just fine with no decoder. And yes I ordered one thinking I would need it because I watched a youtube video on a different brand that said it was a must and also read a NON-Verified NINEO purchase that was vague in the critical review. With the NINEO H11 low beam, there is no issue, and no error warnings.
-Life of the bulbs...this I currently cannot comment on. When they go out I will update this. But they are 50 bucks for the set, supposedly last 30k hours. If they last even 2-3 years, I am fine with that as they are cheap in comparison to others, yet get the job done.
-Additional Notes- 2-28-2020--- Had these for a few months and they still work fine. I also swapped out the high beams. I did notice after the first week that people were flashing their lights at me and when pulling up behind someone I could see my lights up in their back glass. So even though my lights were already adjusted, after adding the LED's I adjusted them down. Something about the lights change the pattern. After adjustment the lights looked more focused on the road, even far out, and no longer blinded people. Its very simple, just need a screwdriver (look up youtube videos)
UPDATE-9/2/2020
Led lights are still running like a champ. Zero issues. Still hold the original 5 star rating
Update - 5/5/21
Still zero issues. The 5 Stars continues for both the high and low beam
