I used one of these at a rental house on our last vacation and it worked so well I bought one myself thinking it might be a good "in between " vac, more than the battery powered hand vac and not as bulky as the "real" vac in the closet. Boy was I wrong! After I unpacked it and checked all the pieces (lots of extras) I put it together and gave it a trial run in my apparently clean office rug. I messed around with it for no more than a minute or a minute and a half before emptying the dirt compartment. It was full! A handful of dirt and dust that it beat out of my clean rug and a double handful of cat hair that had been invisible to me. I'm not obsessive about cleaning but I like to think I keep the place neat and the cleaning lady comes once a week to give it a good going over so these results truely amazed me.
