Lots of brooms vying for your eyeballs on Amazon, all seeming roughly identical at price points between around $18 and $35, with the Oxo presently at $35. I compared this directly with a Far East knock off and while in product photos they are about the same the difference is dramatic in person. The Oxo is just a cut above, and the telescoping handle (which others have complained about but I’ve had no issues with) and superior fit and finish make this the obvious choice, however you wouldn’t know it until it was in front of you. The others are just glorified lobby brooms in attractive color schemes with low quality bristles, handles that don’t stay attached and other annoyances that for myself I’m just not willing to tolerate for a $10 price difference. Is the cheaper one acceptable? Sure. If you bought it and didn’t have a point of comparison, you might be delighted. But it’s nothing better than the IKEA broom set I bought for less than $10 and it looks kind of sad side by side with the Oxo. If you’re here looking at the Oxo it’s because perhaps you’ve used their other products and appreciate the difference small details can make in your everyday life. So just splurge and give the review obsessing a rest. You have more important things to attend to (at least I would hope so).
