Some advice on applying it
First, what others have said is true.. this is NOT a latex-based paint. It won't wash off with soap and water (my hands are still speckled a day later). And it does have an odor, so you will need ventilation. I used an "ultra-smooth high-density foam" 4" roller, which I just dipped into the paint.. very easy. I didn't attempt to clean it when I was done.. easier just to throw it away. It took 5-10 minutes of stirring to get the metal mixed back into the paint, but in the end the paint was smooth and thick, but of an even consistency.. so keep stirring until you get there. Once stirred, it kept its smoothness for quite a while. I applied EIGHT coats, not waiting a full 30 minutes all the time (it seemed fine to me). After three a rare-earth magnet was sticking weakly. After six it was sticking pretty firmly. I kept going because, well, why not? Each coat is basically just gluing more iron particles to the wall. While painting, I could hear iron particles coming off the wall and hitting the newspaper I had on the floor.. you'll definitely want to have newspaper down in the area (or a drop cloth, of course). And unless you have a lot of xylene sitting around, you might want to wear gloves. Just saying. In short, the product will work, but you'll need a lot of coats, so just figure that in from the beginning. I did an area of about 5 sq ft, and 8 coats used less than half the can (even though the can implies that it only covers 50 sqft?). And I'd put in a strong window fan, blowing outward, before starting the project.
