Firstly, the directions that come with this UV lamp are minimal. The operation of the lamp is perfect once you get past this point. Mine would not turn on at all the first time I tried using it. I decided to check the internet to see if I could find trouble shooting tips. I found a review on you tube and watched that video. I'll just tell you what I found out. You need to push the bulbs into their positions with a little force. Push slightly until you hear a mild pop. You did not break the machine. Now, once I did this it worked great! Also, the tray on the bottom does have a tab. If you wanted to easily use this tray to slide your hand in and out I would leave the tray unclipped at the bottom. It shouldn't cause you any issues because mine stays slid in when I transport it from table back to box for storing. Once I figured out how to use my machine I was so happy. Also, if your nails are sticky after drying you HAVE TO swipe your nails with a cotton pad that is damp with rubbing alcohol. This is key to having that amazing beautiful finish on your nails. Also, UV lamps are great because they can also be used with LED polishes. LED lamps are supposed to be only used for LED polish. So if you are having troubles with your lamp I would suggest exhausting all routes of information. You tube, calling a professional nail salon, asking a friend, searching the internet. I know, we shouldn't have to, but this Melody Susie UV Nail Dryer is meant for the professional who already knows what they are doing. We are probably mostly new at this and do not know the tips and tricks. So, I highly recommend this dryer. Also, keep in mind the bulbs are only 9W, however, 9 times the 4 bulbs inside equals 36W. Each bulb is not 36W. So since I already did your research for you BUY THIS DRYER!
