This little saw can be used for large format tiles
I bought this saw for a kitchen remodel. I didn’t want to rent and I also didn’t want to have to store a big wet saw until the next time, if there is a next time. This little saw fit the bill, inexpensive and small.
I cut and set 240 sq ft of 24”x24” porcelain tile, 3/8 thick. Because if the size of the tile I had to build a platform to support the tiles as I cut them. I did not use the fence that came with the saw instead I used a straight board and clamps on the platform for a guide. Sometimes I just mark the tile and eye ball the cuts
The blade that came with the saw didn’t last long so I replaced it. I also found that the water reservoir was too small and ran out of water after only a few minutes. I cured this by wedging the garden hose in the reservoir and turning it on low. That seemed to work just fine. This saw does throw water in the path of the cut so you will get wet.
All in all, this saw worked fine. The size of the tile was the only challenge. It is possible to use this saw for large format tiles. If You are laying smaller tiles, you should have no issues. Just take your time and don’t force the tile into the blade. All my cuts were straight, full length cuts, no angles, so that made it easier. I’m happy with this saw. The job turned out great.
