Solid bike with some minor build problems at an amazing price.
Awesome potential but build quality issues plagued me. The materials seem to be high quality and durable, however the workmanship on my unit caused performance problems that I initially blamed on the design itself, this proved to be untrue and was totally fixable. I had used this bike for about two weeks and was somewhat dissatisfied up until today. Originally the product had no noticeable resistance differences from settings 1-4 and 8 (the highest) had mediocre resistance. Typically my problem was not being able to keep my heart rate up due to lack of resistance. I disassembled the front housing just now and found that one tabbed washer on the flywheel axle housing (yellow arrow in the pics) was installed backwards which allowed the main flywheel to be out of square with the rest of the unit, I fixed the washer and re-seated the axle. Also there is a limit set screw which limits how close the magnets can be to the flywheel (Red arrow in the pics) and designates the resistance for each setting. On my unit, the set screw had been set about halfway out. I am assuming this was to compensate for the wheel being out of place when it was built. I set the resistance dial to 8 and then moved the set screw so I could get the magnets to be as close as possible to the flywheel without contacting it when I pedaled (took a couple tries). The highest resistance setting is now something like pedaling up hill through wet concrete as it dries, truly some epic brutal resistance game right there. Also, now 4 is about as resistant as the old 8, appropriately mediocre. There is absolutely 8 distinct resistance levels now and I feel this is probably closer to the way the manufacturer intended the bike to function. It is insane how such a small adjustment took this bike from forgettable to amazing. I highly recommend anyone facing a lack of resistance from this bike to take a look through their setup and make some adjustments. Lastly the seat is not anything to write home about. I think is pretty common among these but it should be mentioned it is worth getting some kind of padding for any serious use.
