I love it!
I absolutely love the Alta. I've had the Fitbit One, Flex, Charge HR and the Apple Watch. This does what I need and is so much better on my wrist. It's sleek and comfortable. I won't say it's cute, but it's much less ugly than the rest. I adore it. I'm wearing both the Alta and the Flex for a few days to compare the data.
The tap feature works exactly the way it's supposed to, just give it two quick taps. It shows me the time when I flip my wrist up, similar to the Apple Watch. I don't have any issues clasping the band. It's similar to the flex except the holes are round. They do fit snugly, but that's the way you want it so you don't accidentally lose it. If you have trouble, practice a bit and also clasp and unclasp it several times in the holes that fit you. It will loosen up a bit.
Photo is with my Flex for comparison.
Follow up: the flex and Alta had the same steps by about 50 out of 17000, so I'd say it's pretty accurate. For those complaining of inaccuracies while pushing a shopping cart or stroller, that's true of all fitness trackers worn on the wrist. If this is upsetting to you, an easy fix is to put the Fitbit in your pocket when you plan to do those things. It'll track perfectly then.
One thing of note, the graphite leather band is brown. Not grey or graphite. It's taupe or putty. I'm going to see if I can return mine, as I really don't wear colors that go with that. I wish they'd make a black leather band.
