My kids are 2 and 8 years old. They both enjoy drawing on this mat. They opened it as soon as the package came and it’s been used every day since. They were really excited about all the different stencils and tools, but mostly ignored the tools that aren’t brushes or pens after day one. I will say that I was a little disappointed that I could see through the top layer when it was dry, but it’s not for me and the kids couldn’t really care less! It dries fast! I do spray a bit of probiotic cleaning spray on it to counteract any harmful materials that might grow during storage
