Long story short, I work night shift and need a dark room to actually trick my mind to go to sleep when the sun is completely full and bright. The room I put these curtains in faces the sun during daylight. I will note I hung them quick without a curtain rod. I wanted to 1. save money and 2. I wanted to really minimize the amount of light that could sneak through the edges. Overall the room is blacked out. The only light that comes in is very minimal along the edge. In fact, I tried to take a picture of the room to show the blackout and my camera just gave a black image as you can see. As for energy efficient: These curtains do block some of the heat of the sun from pouring into the room. This room use to be utterly unbearably HOT.Typically, a summer day will be 100+ degrees F. It's still warm up there but not unbearable. I wanted to make sure to write a review as I noticed this style of the black out curtains has minimal review. They are absolutely worth the money. Delivery was fast. I personally don't care if there are wrinkles or not so I can't comment on that other than to say, right of of the package to my window, the wrinkles are minimal. If you need your room blacked out BUY THESE. (And I assure, I am not getting paid for this review. I wish I was LOL but I'm not. )
