I cannot say enough great things about this Mug! It does pretty much everything right! How do I know? Well... I bought 7 different 12oz-14oz insulated stainless mugs for a comparison test! I filled each mug with the same amount of almost boiling water and placed the lid on each with the drinking spout left open (if close-able). I checked each mug every hour or two to see how well it was holding heat.. Here are the list of mugs and results from worst performing to best: 7. Yeti Rambler 14oz insulated mug (tied with below) 6. Simple drink 14oz insulated mug (Yeti clone) 5. Maars Townie 14 oz insulated mug 4. Healthy Human 12oz tumbler 3. Hydro Flask 12 oz insulated mug 2. MIRA 12 travel/car mug 1. Simple Modern 12oz Scout Coffee Mug I noticed that ALL these mugs were insulated very well on the bottom and sides, it was the lid design that was the biggest factor in performance. Only the top 3 performers had some kind of double wall in the lid design. The rest were simple single wall lids that heat could easily escape through. The Yeti and Simple Drink mugs both suffered from having the widest/biggest surface area tops - further compounding the issue. You wouldn't think the lid would make that big of a difference but it absolutely did! When the worst performing mugs felt luke-warm, the Simple Modern was still hot! I would say the manufacturer "3hr" keep hot is very conservative. Another fantastic feature that most others miss is that you can close the top AND it stays drip-free! The screw on lid is extremely secure and seals perfectly. The lid was also one of the easiest to drink from in the test. The huge color choices available for these mugs is just the icing on the cake! If your looking for the perfect insulated mug that also fits under Keurig - look no further! Hope this helps!
