These were by far the best thing to purchase for hiking! We had several members of our family hike so we used 1 each even though they are intended as a pair for 1 person. Everyone talked about having better balance and being easier on their back. It made it easier to climb up/down the rocky terrain. I plan on buying a couple more pairs. They were used by ages 14-56 and everyone loved them.
