Upon receiving my two rolls, I compared the thickness of these "bargain" bags to that of the name-brand ones. While there is a slight - almost unnoticeable - difference in weight, I was unable to discern any appreciable difference in thickness of the plastic. They heat seal exactly the same as the name brand bags, and the texture on the "up" side is identical. The only (potential) negative to these rolls I have found is that they will not fit in my FoodSaver in the size they were shipped as. To me, this is a non-issue as it only takes about 5 minutes to roll enough onto a 3/4" PVC pipe to fit into the machine, with the leftover (probably about 30 feet) being left on the roll and stored for later use. Considering the amount of money you are saving over the ridiculous price of the brand name bags, I will gladly spend an extra few minutes "charging" my rolls to be used at a later date. EDIT: I went ahead and checked the thickness of both the FoodSaver brand bags and the Commercial Bargains brand ones. Both bags measured exactly .28mm thick using a digital micrometer that's accurate to the thousandth of an inch. Definitely no difference in thickness.
