Thank you to all of the reviewers who provided suggestions to lessen the wastage. It saddens me to think how many of you may be reading this, after popping the safety seal. Solely for those who haven’t suffered such a loss, and are staring at a fresh, unopened bottle of Brain octane, I’m sharing pics of the beautifully 🙄 paring-knife stab-created spout on my 32 oz. bottle, which is working fairly decently. (she says, as she rubs her hands vigorously, ensuring her skin will absorb the would-be wasted droplets, which somehow still find their way out of the miserably-designed bottle, without it so much as being tipped.)
It has bugged me to have to purchase Brain Octane Oil in a plastic bottle, seeing as how my education about the terrors of chemicals/contaminants leached into our foods when coming into contact with plastic, originated from a Bulletproof podcast.
(And, nope. There is no such thing as safe plastic.
Please research xenoestrogens if you’ve faced infertility, breast cancer, endometriosis, PCOS, early puberty, miscarriages, thyroid issues... or anything which seems along those lines.)
Of course, there are countless aspects of life which are likely to always require exposure to plastic. I am trying to accept need to make small changes as options become available, instead of beating myself up and wishing to surrender for failures like... still having two pans with Teflon in the house.
Brain Octane’s $10 jump in price since I ordered just over a month ago prompted looking at other options. Wouldn’t ya know it... a search for “C8 MCT Oil” revealed quite a few alternatives, one of which is in a glass bottle, and currently quite a bit more affordable than Brain Octane.
Don’t gouge us, Mr. Asprey. I try to listen intently to your expertise, but I stop being able to convince myself that your interest in the well-being of your listeners/customers isn’t compromised by greed, when you make sudden price increases of 31.5%, pricing a product out of range for some of your biggest fans (health-challenged, aka, poor), just because you can. Still love ya, but I’ll be switching the contents of my shopping cart momentarily.
