One thing I really dislike about kindle books is that they often do not contain the original copyright information. This book was no exception, and I was very suspicious of a book that was *described* as being written in the 20s by an author unknown to me and with no documentation. A search of the internet revealed no more information, so I began the sample convinced that this was a newly-written "20s-style" mystery that would be bound to disappoint. I'm delighted to say that I was NOT disappointed, and THE MURDER AT SISSINGHAM HALL seems to be the real thing. I have yet to find a contemporary author who really "gets" it--there are so many overdone attempts to capture the Golden Age, and so far, no successes. THE MURDER AT SISSINGHAM HALL isn't the best mystery I ever read--and I did suspect the murderer early on--but much of the pleasure for me is the setting, the conversation, the writing style. These did not fail to satisfy, and it was an excellent story (offered at a great price) as well.
