Comparing the Magical Wand Palace with the Musical Dancing Palace
We also have the Little People Disney Princess Musical Dancing Palace, as well as this new, Little People Disney Princess Magical Wand Palace Playset, so we can provide some points of comparison. The one advantage of the Musical Dancing Palace over this one is that there's a place where you stick the characters and, in addition to hearing them say short sentences ("Hi! I'm Tiana!" or "I love to dance!") you can also hear them sing short excerpts of classic Disney Princess songs. With the Magical Wand Palace, you can hear the sentences but no singing, which is odd. Aside from that one point, however, I think the Magical Wand Palace is far superior, at least from the perspective of our two year old daughter. One thing is that this castle comes with a magical wand that she can carry around. When she pushes the button on the magical wand, it lights up and the castle also lights up and music plays. And, really, what two year old girl isn't going to love a magical wand? The castle itself is pretty cool because the stairs light up (very colorful) and different melodies play and it's pretty cool, for a little kid. Our two year old daughter enjoys both palaces but I think the Magical Wand Palace has more different things for her to do and seems slightly better designed (the Dancing Palace has pieces on the top that fall off easily, for example, whereas the Magical Wand Palace does not have that problem).
