This Alarm Works!!
This may be a lengthy review, but I do hope if you have a child with chronic bed wetting issues, you will take the time to read through my experience. And if you don’t want to read throught just know that I LOVE this little device and it works! My son is almost 7, and he has been wetting the bed since he was potty trained at just before 3-years-old. I finally spoke to his doctor, because I was fed up with washing cloth training pants and sheets every. single. day. She suggested the alarm, explaining that it helps to wake even the deepest of sleepers. We had him sleep in our room on his old crib mattess so that I could wake up too to help him the first few times. The second two nights (which were really the first two, but my son was a little too enthusiastic and marked the first night off before we actually used the alarm 😆) he did sleep through the alarm. But as the days progressed as soon as the alarm would go off he would stop peeing and get up and go to the bathroom. It was like a miracle! The second week was a little tougher, but I knew this was going to take six weeks at the least and 12 at the most. And as you can see from his chart we’ve only had one heavy bed wetting day since the second week. We just finished week 6 and last night he asked if he could sleep without the alarm. I was little nervous to let him, but he had all dry days this week, so I gave it shot, and sure enough he was just fine! 👏👏👏 Couple of things I wanted to mention were in regards to two negative reviews. One person said she was worried about the cord being too long. So I put the alarm on my son and took some pictures showing, it’s not possible for the cord to wrap around their neck. Also if anyone is worried about the length you can easily shorten the wire by wrapping the arm band around it, or just having your child wear a night shirt. The second person seemed to think the batteries died quickly. It’s possible the device they received was defective, but we’ve had it for 6 weeks now and I have not had to change the batteries once. There were a couple of times when the alarm didn’t go off resulting in heavy wetting, but I realized it was because he was laying on his side and I hadn’t placed the sensor in the middle of his underwear. As soon as I fixed that problem the alarm would go off at the first drop of wettness. For anyone who feels like this is invasive trying to attach the alarm to your child’s underwear, I just attach it to a clean pair and have him change at night, so that I’m not trying to attach it while he’s wearing them. It’s easier to clip it on without him wearing them anyway. He did complain a few times about it pinching so I would have to adjust it. But my son has Sensory Processing Disorder, so I’m amazed that he has worn this alarm consistently, and thankful because it works! I hope you got through this review, and I hope you decide to give this a try. I would recommend it anyone who’s child sleeps so deeply they can’t wake up to go to the bathroom, it was been a miracle for us!
