YOU NEED TO APPLY IT TO DAMP/WET SKIN AND PUT A MOISTURIZER ON TOP TO SEAL IT AND THE WATER INTO YOUR SKIN. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant (binds to water) and you're supposed to apply it to damp/wet skin after you've washed your face so that the hyaluronic acid binds to the water and clings onto it. Then, you use an emollient moisturizer on top of the hyaluronic acid serum to seal both the hyaluronic acid and water into your skin. It seriously makes a world of a difference if you follow these steps. Your skin will drink in the water, hyaluronic acid, and moisturizer. I like to follow up with an occlusive moisturizer as the "cherry on top" to minimize transepidermal water loss from my skin as much as possible because I have dry and dehydrated skin and prefer the "greasy face" that I affectionately call the "healthy skin" look. But, you don't need the occlusive moisturizer is you prefer a more natural skin finish and don't suffer from dehydrated skin. Honestly, if I could give this item 10 stars I would. Cheap, effective, minimal, and saved my dehydrated, dry, sensitive skin as it synergized with my skincare arsenal and made my skincare products much more effective. 100% recommend this product.
