Great for interval training
I bought this bike in 2015 and have 2,500 miles on it. I've been doing 10 minute interval training on it every or every other day for the last two years. Being a cyclist, I was a bit skeptical and put-off at first by the big fat seat and even called to ask if they had a more normal size road bike seat I could buy as a replacement. They didn't, but said they might in the future. No need now. I've gotten used to it and find it even comfortable. I agree with the reviewer who talked about the ergonomics. It's not ideal and I wish the seat were more over the pedals, but they're not and it works fine and it's dirt cheap relative to what you get, which is a good reliable bike with a fully height adjustable seat and all the electronic controls I need. I glance at the calorie counter from time to time, but for interval training what I tend to use most is the time function - before I had this bike I was trying to use a stop watch with a portable stair stepper - this is much much better. I ride at a modest speed till I hit 2 minutes, then crank up the resistance and give it everything I've got for 20 seconds, then ride till it hits 4:20 and rip it again for 20 seconds, then moderately again until I get to 6:40, crank up the resistance and ride hard till it hits 7:00 (20 seconds), then moderately till it gets to 10 minutes and I'm done. Great pre-breakfast, pre-shower workout. There have been no mechanical issues since I bought it and the pedals & cranks are still running smooth. Overall, one of my best buys on Amazon, and I see they're even cheaper now than when I bought mine two years ago.
