My significant other and I both recently had extensive dental work. Our dental practice gave us one, and promotes its use over many other devices. For my needs, they prefer that I use the Air Flosser over dental pics or traditional floss, as it's gentle on dental work, and more thorough. About 2 weeks after having a temporary crown installed, I was using our flosser and "blew out" a large piece of excess dental glue that was hiding beneath the gum line. Floss would not have been able find or clean this glue. Having said this, not everyone tolerates the air flosser. If you have gum issues such as periodontal, bleeding gums, tenderness, open holes, etc... then it may be uncomfortable, as the blast is powerful, but non-adjustable. But, if you can tolerate it, your gums and teeth will heal, and look / feel better over time.
