We recently renovated our bathroom and expanded the shower, so that an existing window is now partially inside the shower. Blinds or curtains weren't an option due to the water and installing a new frosted window was out of the budget for now. After reading the great reviews, we decided to give this a shot and it's a great solution. The installation is very similar to installing wallpaper. Based on the advice of others, I let it set up overnight before trimming the edges. Starting the installation was a little frustrating. They secure the roll with a sticker which is very difficult to remove and only comes off in tiny little pieces. It can also be very challenging to get the film separated from the protective backing. Once I got through those steps, it was easy and pretty painless. The squares themselves are not as large as they appeared in the photo of the item. It definitely allows light, but the view is obstructed - from both inside and outside. We tested it at night time with the lights on. You could make out a person standing in the window, but not in detail that would allow one to bare all for curious eyes! Time will tell how this holds up, especially being partially inside a shower. I do wish there were other sizes available, especially since I imagine a lot of people are using this on the large, square bathroom windows. I had to order two rolls for mine, with a seam in the middle. I had the seam meet along one of the vertical lines of the window, to help disguise seam.
