Okay, so, I read the other 50+ reviews and decided to try this product out. I recently purchased a pre foreclosure sale from an owner who smoked various things in the home including about two to three packs of newports a day. After having the carpets professionally cleaned, there was still a strong smell of smoke, especially on damp/humid days. I decided to try this in a home carpet cleaner. I used 3oz of cleaner to 1 gal water. It did great. It did not foam or leave a residue on the carpet. Rather it left it brighter and smelling "fresh" It does not have a strong chemical smell. After abot 24 hrs you cannot smell the odoban, just a clean fresh scent. I highly recommend this. We also used it in a Ready to use spray bottle to attack the return air ducts and it worked great.
