I used to be Very Disappointed
ETA on 7/26/2016
I'm a happy camper now. A recent(ish) update has made it possible to put Kindle and Audible content on the micro sd card. I got a 128MB card, and as I type this, *all* of my Amazon Kindle books are on the Kindle. All of them. My entire library, which is currently 880 books. I've never been able to do that before. I've also started putting my Audible content on the Fire, and I'm at 57 and counting. This has used up a whopping 12.22GB (along with a few game apps) so far. So now I can have my entire collection in one place, which is what I wanted from the beginning.
Below is my original "Very Disappointed" 3 star review:
I bought this to store my audible books, but they can't be stored on the micro sd card. Neither can Kindle books.
Seriously Amazon?! Audible and Kindle books can't be stored on the sd card of your own device?! So I'm stuck with the puny storage on the device.
From the description:
"8 GB of internal storage. Free unlimited cloud storage for all Amazon content and photos taken with Fire devices. Add a microSD card for up to 128 GB of additional storage."
I took this to mean I could ad a microSD card and add up to 128 GB of additional storage for the Amazon content that was just mentioned. Kindle books and Audible books are Amazon content.
ETA:
To the person who said to use the FREE cloud storage:
Seriously?! Use the cloud?! I'm already using the cloud. All of my Amazon content is on the cloud. I know that. I know it is FREE. How is the cloud supposed to help me when I don't have wifi available? When I have no internet? When I'm traveling on a plane? When I'm in my car on my commute?
I have 300 audiobooks.
Do you know how long it takes to download an audiobook?
I'm tired of deleting books to make space so I can download a new book. I want to download once and be done with it.
The whole idea of the expandable storage was to be able to store more. This is Amazon's device. Audible is an Amazon company. I want to store my Amazon content on my Amazon device. Cell phones have been able to store audible books on their SD cards. It was not unreasonable to think I could store my audible books on my Amazon tablet.
