I believe this is the third modification IForrest has made to their Self-Inflating Sleeping Pads and this review is for their latest mod (3rd generation released sometime in September 2018). I'm a nature photographer so I needed something that would be light and easy to pack into places I'd have to hike to to camp and this pad certainly fits the bill! Not only is it thicker, longer and wider than their previous pads (I also own their 2nd generation pad), it is light and very, very comfortable! (I weigh about 150 lbs.) The inflate/deflate valves for the pad, armrests & pillow are placed perfectly where they need to be for deflating and rolling back up into its carry pouch (see attached video) and the blow-up pillow is actually comfortable as well! To be honest, I didn't think I would use the armrests, but found myself enjoying the way they not only keep me on the pad, but give my legs something to rest on when sleeping on my side. I give photography workshops that last from three to seven days and this pad is my go-to pad. I have purchased several more pads for my clients in the event that they show up with thinner, inferior pads and are not getting a good night's sleep. Many times one of the first things they ask me the next morning is, "Where can I get a pad like this?" I can only guess that the lower ratings are for the 1st & 2nd generation pads because this 3rd one is great (I have the light green one). Another reason I would guess some people are giving this pad bad reviews is because they are competitors just trying to drive down the reviews. All I can say is definitely try this pad for yourself. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who needs lightweight portability matched with comfort. Plus, the customer service is 10-star! I did have one where the arm rest sprung a leak and the seller had a brand new one in the mail to me that very day.
