Silky, straight, healthy hair, highly recommended - please follow directions
I don't usually post, but I've found some reviews helpful to me, and honestly when I saw 5 stars (10 reviews at that time) I thought are these real reviews? After my experience I can tell you they are! I highly recommend this product, but please be sure to watch video on how to use. I have 3b3c hair (hip length-corkscrew waves that frizz and tangle right away). It took a total of 4 hours to get my full head of hair done. My hair is silky and straight, and feels so healthy and shiny. I cannot express how happy I am with this product (we only had to use 1/2), not sure if it keeps for a touch up, but that is for another time. I've had this Brand Japanese straightener in a hair salon over the years and gladly paid over 300 for it. In each of those cases, I've had my hair fall out (not a ton) but enough to notice a bit later (but I didn't care, it was worth it to me). I was hesitant to do this myself, since it is a long process, but I no longer had access to the old Salon, they closed down, and there was no way I was paying 400+. SO, it's been three years since I last had it done, (my hair is considered virgin hair, so no special processes were needed). My daughter happily volunteered to do this for me. We watched the you tube video several times, (search for Liscio and Milbon) and then took the plunge. Here's what we did - (if you are planning on cutting your hair do it before - so as to cut off some time).
1) washed hair twice with the Nigelle ER shampoo, made sure it was clean.
2) sectioned hair into depending on your hair thickness mine needed 12 (four sections and then each into three).
3) Started the timer - started in the back and finished application in 12 minutes(make sure you smooth as you go), you have to move fast.
4) smooth and made sure every strand is saturated. Keep smoothing, and do the loop test every 5-7 minutes.
5) for me the total time from start of application to rinsing was 30 minutes (yup the max time), I didn't want to buy strong, for fear of burning and I'm glad I did not. Again, I can't stress enough make sure you understand the loop test and how it works - this is key.
6) Rinsed off - this took the most time, you really have to make sure there are no more bubbles (per video) I would say it took at least 10 minutes of rinsing ( if not more) for the bubbles to clear. But finally it was all out, PLEASE make sure no more bubbles, and all is out or your hair will burn and break off right there and then, this did happen to an itsy bitsy area maybe 5 hairs worth. SO again it has to be all out of your hair.
7) towel dry and blow dry (doesn't have to be totally dry if your hot iron can handle wet-tish hair), and then in very, very small sections, iron hair straight, ok, my daughther, did this and it took the longest time, but this is key... we had our iron at the highest setting.
8) I won't lie when I say, I did not want to wreck how beautiful it already looked, but alas, you must put on the neutralizer (saturate and quickly) and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes, we left it on for 7 minutes.
9) Rinse well, blow dry, and iron to finish. At this point, after the blow dry, it was already straight. We ironed a few places, and decided we were going to try and put in some large curls at the end, since I didn't want that stick straight edge and to our surprise it worked. There is a soft curl at the ends.
I keep seeing 'we' but it was my daughter who made it possible for me. If you have someone to help you, I hope he/she is ready to make a 3-4 hour commitment, it is so important to really follow the directions.
I can't tell you how happy I am with this product.
