I was looking for a cover that met several criteria: 1. I didn't want a cover with elastic straps (too flimsy) 2. It had to protect the corners of the Kindle with something other than plastic clips 3. I didn't want the case to cover the entire bezel (because it's too hard to access the far edges of the screen) 4. I wanted something that didn't look cheap. This cover FAR exceeded all of those expectations. The access openings are all in the right spots, the speakers still sound fabulous and the red color is beautiful. It's a true apple-red color and I couldn't be happier. It's not leather, but it looks and feels like a high quality product. You won't be disappointed with this case. Fit and finish is perfect. Update - 8/16/2013 - This case has held up perfectly. The smell diminished and the edges/corners show no wear at all. I use my Kindle daily, and it still looks great, almost a year later. The price has dropped, so I'm ordering another one in a different color.
