Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I was drawn to the Aukey brand with the high number of glowing reviews which gave it great search results positioning on Amazon's site. After a more careful review I noticed the majority of people who were giving this item 5 stars had gotten the item complimentary from Aukey. Even on their own site they promote signing up to review free products for the company. Within the first night of using the charging, I put my cell phone on the charge and noticed the molded end USB connector was loose. I have a brand new phone and didn't want to jeopardize damaging it with a short or have the cable end break off inside my phone connector. On May 27th I contacted the company's web site that readily advertises their 18 Month warranty. It is now a month later, and the company has just gone back and forth over email -- 8 emails to be exact, and there are gaps of 3-4 days before they even respond. I've sent a PDF of my receipt, a photo of the defective item. No resolution all over what is probably less than a dollar USB cable. I am going to end up sending the item for replacement to Amazon. UPDATE: July 23, 2015: A manager from Aukey called me directly today to rectify the problem. The company sent a replacement unit and offered a sincere apology for the problem, and the long delay in receiving a resolution.
