This little egg cooker is a POWERHOUSE in an extremely compact size. For those who had "issues" with this unit, here's a tip-READ THE MANUAL! Your eggs WILL NOT leak out if you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and place them pierced side UP. There are instructions regarding the water amounts required for ALL cooking methods, BUT YOU MUST READ THE MANUAL. I work in Customer Service for a MAJOR high-end home appliance line, and I have to say that 80% of the calls I receive daily could be easily resolved without the assistance of my collegues and me IF ONLY PEOPLE READ THEIR MANUALS, but then, we'd be out of work! Confidently purchase this great little egg cooker-it performs beautifully IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. When I first plugged mine in, the light was already on. Because I had READ MY MANUAL, I was aware that this was NOT A DEFECT, but simply due to the fact that the button had been pushed during packing. Resolution-add smallest amount of water, turn on, it AUTOMATICALLY STOPS when water has evaporated. I let it cool, loaded it up with eggs and had 7 perfectely hard cooked eggs in about 12 minutes! So, in closing-confidently purchase this egg cooker, BUT READ THE MANUAL!
