I am a new homeowner and I live alone and did not want to be messing around with yearly upkeep and driving around with gasoline in the trunk of my Audi. I just charge up the battery and this thing instantly turns on and cuts. I had crab grass get up to 14" or so, maybe taller, because I was unable to cut the grass for a few weeks and my untreated lawn sucks and has crab grass all over the place right now. Cutting at a higher height, and doing 1/2 overlapping cuts, this thing powered right through that tall and thick crab grass. I kind of tried pushing this thing to it's limits a bit since it is still within the warranty so if I am going to break it, now is the time to do it. I gave it a fair fight by adjusting the height and the overlapping cut too though. This electric lawn mower must have a stupid amount of torque since it is electric, because it fought right through it. I really think some gasoline mowers would have stalled out trying to attempt the same feat (I may not have ever used a decent gasoline mower though, before people jump on me for that statement). So far I love this thing. Relatively zero maintenance, no gas runs or storage, so easy to turn on and use my grandma could use it.
