Small Price. Big Impact
Selling our home and the kitchen was still a 70’s era eyesore. Since our neighborhood doesn’t warrant big money investments, my husband begrudgingly agreed to my idea of paint. Including this marble kit, we spent only $300 on our kitchen reno. It looks so amazing...especially the counters. The instructions are amazing. There are patchy and bumpy spots with divets in the epoxy, but I think that is because we didn’t pour enough in those spots and didn’t notice until it began to dry. At first, I didn’t think we would use the three containers of epoxy for our small amount of counters but I am so glad we had them for a second coat to smooth out the finish. We sanded down bubbles from first coat prior, applied 2nd coat and it was so much smoother. Make sure you have two full days to patiently paint, draw lines and apply epoxy coats. You won’t be able to use fully for 7 days. Here are our before/after photos. You can do this! Edit: after using a crockpot once on the surface (months after application/curing), it left the epoxy a distinct yellowed hue underneath. I called customer service to ask for advice and they took my address down to send instructions and a spot kit of some kind. I never received anything nor were my emails responded to. Moral of the story, put something underneath your crockpots/instapots and hope you don’t need to deal with customer service.
