First and foremost, if you are petite do not order up!! In women's sizes I normally wear an x-small or small, so I ordered a small to be on the safe side after reading other reviews. The product appears to be more form fitting in the picture, however, the small was quite baggy on me. Otherwise, the jacket is extremely compact and lightweight. I'm traveling to Thailand during the rainy season (also humid - lightweight is perfect), so I need something that will not take up too much space in my luggage and keep me dry. I actually ran my arm under water for a few seconds to see how it would hold up, and within 20 seconds or so I could feel moisture on my arm. Initially disappointed, I planned to return. Not more than 2 minutes later, the jacket was as dry as a bone. So I imagine in a downpour, you may still get soaked. But in light to moderate rain and in small bursts, I am hoping it will keep me from getting completely wet. I should also mention that there are two large pockets inside the jacket. No zipper on the pockets, but a nice addition. There are also two elastic draw-bands at the waist and hood. The elastic at the cuffs is also beneficial.
