Peloton DIY at fraction of the cost
First of all, let me say I am a beginner indoor cyclist. During the pandemic I was trying to find something that I could do easily but still stay healthy and I REALLY wanted a peloton but spending $2500 on a bike plus monthly subscription of $40 was just not going to happen for me. So I went on YouTube and researched bike alternatives. I must Say there are several to choose from pending on your athleticism but most of all your budget. With me being new and not sure if I was/am going to stick with it, I ultimately decided on this bike. Several factors helped steer me to this beauty; price, shipping time, included options and ease of using it right away. I did pay $5 more than on the Sunny Fitness website but I received this in 2 days. And on the day of delivery it was at my house at 630am. Can’t beat that. Delivery from amazon was perfect. Box was perfect. No dents, bumps, nothing. Great job. I put It together myself. I did have trouble with the right pedal and had to have my hubby help. Once put together, the bike is very sturdy, pedals are great with no clicking as I’ve seen on other bikes. 2 things that I really like a lot about this bike is that it included the device holder and the stat reader. You can see the rpm, distance, time, etc. I didn’t think of getting a bike without a device until I saw it on YouTube. I use My already owned iPad mini and place it on the device holder. Voila, you have a peloton DIY. I downloaded the Peloton app for $12/Mth with 30 day free trial. I’ve already done 3 classes as I was so excited. The bike also includes a water bottle holder on the right side. It doesn’t come with a weight holder, which for the price I expect but I did find on Etsy that someone was selling one. The seat is actually not horrible. A lot of ppl complain about bike seats. I did order the Bikeroo gel seat cover from Amazon and fits/works great. One thing to note is on the Peloton app, they refer to Cadence which is like rpms but measures the number of cycles. I decided to order the Wahoo cadence sensor to add to the bike. It’ll connect via Bluetooth to my iPad and will be visible during with Peloton app experience. For me, as a beginner, I love this bike. The initial expense wasn’t crazy and I feel like I’m not overwhelmed by anything. Even my hubby can use it and he’s 250 and 6’1. Have fun and enjoy!
