I needed something to use on my buffet rather than multiple trivets and this works very well. It is a rubbery material, stays in place and does the job of protecting my buffet from hot pans. I have also used it on my dining room table for smaller groups that I don't need the buffet surface for. Happy with the purchase and it is reasonably attractive for what it is. I got the decorative flower one.
