If you go on trips you need to invest in an automatic feeder as your back up! since buying it I am pretty impressed on the design on this one. Pros: 1. The cat dish is wide and deep so that kibble does not fall out easily when cats are eating like other feeders I've tried. 2. The lid is quite secure. My cats have tried to nudge and open it but with no success. 3. If you put batteries it will last a looong time so you don't always have to keep it plugged in. 4. Easy to clean, just take the bowl off and wipe it with a cloth. You can also clean the opening quite easily. Cons 1. The screen is a bit small so it's not as convenient to look at unless you peer at it, but I have to say once you set your schedule you shouldn't need to look at it much. Overall, a great buy.
