I absolutely love this screen protector. I HATE the traditional ones that stick to your screens, I always have problems putting those on and getting lint, hair, bubbles, etc. so I never keep those types on my devices. Which is a shame since my original Kindle Fire ended up with a medium sized scratch on it! I thought the "gorilla glass" would completely protect my screen from getting scratches, but I was wrong, it still can, so you definitely need a screen protector if you don't want future scratches. This screen protector by Skinomi is fabulous! I went to their website, watched the installation video, followed the instructions, and viola! It's on, it works, it's perfect! You spray a solution onto the front and back of the plastic screen protector and then place it on your device. The instructions say to let it dry for several hours, which I did, but I squeezed the liquid out really good after applying and it didn't take too long to dry. There was a *very* slight rainbow effect in a few areas for the first day until the liquid finished evaporating. After that, I can't even tell that it's on my device... other than a very light plastic feel to the touch, but I haven't had any change in the response of the touch screen. It doesn't show finger prints like the actual screen does, but over time it eventually picks up some of the grease from your fingers, which I just wipe off with a cloth every once in a while. IMPORTANT NOTE: There's a cutout hole for the camera and one for the light sensor, which is located to the left of the camera, and which you can faintly see if you look closely with the right lighting. The extra hole for the light sensor goes on the LEFT of the camera hole. If you put it on the RIGHT you have it on backwards and it may not adhere properly. Having the holes actually helped me know which side to use. It was very easy to install. Please see my comments on the one star reviews as some of them didn't install the screen properly. I'm very pleased with this product! I will be recommending this on my website as the best screen protector for your Kindle Fire HD and will be getting one for the 8.9 tablet too when it comes out. -Rachel from LoveMyFire
