I was a bit nervous buying this toaster because it had an overall 3.5 star review with the negative comments being that it does not toast evenly on both sides of the bread and that the cord is a problem with where it is attached underneath the toaster and that the beeping was annoying. Well, I am happy to say that this toaster works great and on setting 5 it produces the perfect toast. When I first got it I put the setting on level 7 and ran it thru 3 toasting cycles to burn off the chemical smell some mentioned in their review and that worked perfectly to get the smell gone. I also was concerned about the beeping as some said it was annoying. It beeps once to start and it beeps three times when finished. Nothing annoying and I actually like it as it tells me my toast is done as I am doing other things in the kitchen most mornings when I am making toast. The cord is not an issue. Even though I have not had this toaster for very long I am very please with it and would highly recommend buying it and saving money, as it is half the cost of the other long slot toasters being sold on Amazon!
