My long detailed review. LADIES! Last night was my first time trying this period cup. For years everytime I saw a “period cup” I thought to myself “ew that is absolutely disgusting” and boy was I wrong! After reading review after review on the many different types of period cups and seeing how much appraisal they got I thought “ok fine I’ll see what it’s all about” I decided to go with the flex cup mainly because it’s black and I liked the idea of the “hook” and overall design. Last night was my first ever attempt and I was very presently surprised. First time insertion was a bit awkward and slightly challenging but I got it and once it was in the right position I knew because (maybe TMI but..) I could actually hear the thing create the suction not only that but I no longer felt the thing...like it just disappeared lol. I was not very active all I did was lay around then go to bed. 12 (and exactly 12) hours later I went to the bathroom crossed my fingers and to my absolute surprise not ONE single drop of blood leaked from this thing! That was 12 whole hours and I slept like a baby (for most of the 12) and I am a heavy bleeder for the first few days. Taking it out was where I was mostly nervous but low and behold I grabbed onto the little “hook” and pulled so so slow and it actually did most of the work itself I barely had to pull on it all I did was support the thing in an upright position as it slid downward. Once it was out I dumped the blood, rinsed it off really well (cleaned up because of course there was some blood, but very very little) and put the thing back in all in less than ten minutes. I can’t believe I had such a closed mind to this thing for so many years. If you’re anything like me just TAKE THE LEAP!!! No more spending money on tampons!!! WHAT A BLESSING!!!!
