This is a handy little radio. It has a variety of power options from USB charge to batteries and solar. The fact that this radio has shortwave as well as weather was very useful. The charging port option to keep a phone charged with the internal battery is a good feature for those of us who use our phones heavily.. I'm hopping that a disaster or emergency will never happen, yet being safe is always better than being sorry. The sound quality is decent,as long as you're not using it to throw a party. The controls are well laid out and clearly marked. The addition of an emergency light and flashing red light are a plus on this little gadget. We haven't had to rely on it during an emergency situation yet so all I can report on is what I see so far. I used it for about an 1 hour,and no real complains except for the crank option,you really have to crank it for long time to get it to work.
