Recently traveled to Africa: what an experience! Though I rarely needed this filter because I purchased bottled water, I tested it in the untreated water from kitchen and bath sinks in private homes in Senegal: I waited for one week to declare myself unharmed by parasites... Maybe this is not proof enough of effectiveness of product, but I do: I felt safe knowing I had this in my tool kit when traveling to un treated water supply countries.
