Tottaly worth! I was going crazy with my cats jumping on the counter and spraying the dishes, the oven, etc. The shock is enough to stimulate the reflex of pulling away your hand, but is fairly weak - cannot harm you or your cats. Being using it for about a week now, so far so good.
