Being that my wife is from Okinawa, I was very eager to try out one of these shikibutons rather than buy a new, $1,000+ bed. I noticed on some of the other reviews for similar products sold by EMOOR that buyers noted a difference in thickness of the futon as compared to the advertised size of 3". This futon, however, was a nice 3" thick and very sturdy and comfortable. It is very large, being a queen size, as I am used to sleeping on a traditional full-size mattress. To get an idea of the size, I had my 3 year old son lay on it for the picture.
