Nice display! Negative reviewers, did you do the required updates?
Bought one of these the other day. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Now I can be on my pi without hogging a tv!
Since there were no assembly instructions included I headed to Google for a search. I found a youtube video explaining how to connect everything. Very simple assembly indeed. I thought that was all I had to do but I was wrong. I powered it on but alas, no display. Further Google research led me to a couple of very important steps that I'm sure most of the bad reviewers are skipping. After connecting the display YOU MUST PERFORM AN UPDATE!
While your new display is assembled and connected, you must still connect the pi to a tv using the HDMI port to perform an update. Once it boots and you are at your command prompt you must execute the following commands in this order. Let each one run to completion before executing the next command. Each command might take 10 minutes or more to finish. After you execute the last command to reboot, you can then disconnect your HDMI cable and your display will function.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo reboot
