I love my Arctix Women’s Insulated Jacket and have worn it every day this week. It’s dense enough to be warm without being so heavy either to carry or wear. The slightly longer length covers more of my legs and the longer, sculpted back is extra protective to sit on. The hood is fleece-lined, as is the jacket itself, but surprisingly, it is not detachable. It’s zippered across the back of the neck as though it would be but secured firmly in place near front neck closures. I do believe it’s advantage, however, to have the additional drawstring (as shown in the first photo) to adjust the closeness of the fit of the hood. The front hand pockets are zippered, which is a benefit for security or to keep the fit around the hands tighter. There is a small additional zippered pocket on the left sleeve arm, as well as large and small Velcro fastened pockets on each side of the inside of the jacket. The sleeves at the wrist are elastic lined, close, but with room allowed for glove thickness. Though I haven’t used it in a downpour, it was effectively water resistant in a fine, misty rain. This is an item I’d buy again.
