I do not have and have never had the thighs or hips for shorts. Ive got the kind of inner thigh meat that kinda pours out of shorts, and my hips /love handle area sticks out further than everything else. (its like having an annoying floatie ring around my body, it sucks) so I was super hesitant to get shorts, ESPECIALLY online. But yooooooo. This is the best clothing purchanse ive ever made. They are pretty stretchy, which means its keeping all the good stuff in, and depending how high you wear them, they have the potential to be booty shorts or you can wear them a little lower on your hip and have a decent pair of normal shorts. So if you're like me, and buying dreaded SHORTS online is a terrifying prospect, id definitely recommend these. I am 5'7, 170lbs, and fluctuate between a size 11 and a size 13.
