I just started the hobby. Didnt want to spend a lot of money if I found out the hobby wasnt for me. Turns out im hooked. No, seriously, hooked. Ive ''been sick'' from work alot latley. This detector is fantastic. Ive had my ace 150 for @ 3 months and have half filled a large mason jar with coins. All kindsa cool trinkets and about 9 billion pull tabs. It has found coins 14 inches deep. 2 weeks ago I found my favorite prize to date. A 1893 barber dime in really good condition too (was only 3 inchs deep in my back yard). The machine does its job. My only complaints are...1) nickles almost always pings on the pull tab icon. Thats why ive dug 9 billion tabs. 2) dug tons of nails when its pinging wildly on coin/silver icon. But thats about it. For what I spent on it theres no way I could really complain. Im sure a more expensive one would have better target ID but this machine is great. I also just got the garrett pro pointer. That is one truly wonderful tool. It saves so much searching and sifting time. Dig a hole, stick the pointer in,follow the beeps. It picks quarters up at around 2.5 inches and dimes around 1.5 inches away. Easy. Fun. Nice way to pass time. And profitable. I would totally reccomend this detector (and pro pointer) to anyone. Its light, easy on batteries, easy to use. Hope this review helps you out. Happy hunting!
