I have only had this product for one day, but intend to update if I have a future problem. I wanted to address certain complaints from other reviews. 1) The lid is not difficult to remove. I am a very petite person. That means tiny. With tiny hands. I've taken the lid off several times without any problems. I've gripped it or even slipped what little nails I have between the lid and water container and pulled up. 2) When removing the lid, there is dripping... But you can tilt the lid and let the drops go into the unit and go on your merry way. 3) I bought this unit from a small store and the owner had used every product she sells and the helpers seem to have tried most. He was adamant that it would spread the scent through my house. Of course I scoffed and I took it to an office, positioning it a two feet away. Everyone could smell it from any room in the office. Admittedly not as strong as in the entrance area it was located, but it gets around! We are currently using a relatively strong oil- a respiratory blend. If I want the full effect in two rooms across the house from each other, though, I'd get one for each room. 4) This is a compact unit. When used on the maximum timer interval (4 hours), it is nearly empty when it turns off. It seems like the timer is more like a neat safety feature in case you forget to refill it in time, not an inconvenience some complain about. 5) The mist goes up, but disperses well. That means it doesn't /need/ to be pointed at you to get it to you.
