GO WINK !!!!
I bought this Hub as an experiment to complement my Amazon Echo to add some automation to my home lights and wall light switches. At first I was a bit skeptical of the quality of the product and the company's reputation. I received the hub and initially I had some issues setting it up. The setup instructions to make the first connection to the Hub did not give me the correct results. I finally made the connection by resetting the Hub using the little reset bottom in the back of the unit. It asked me to setup my home Wifi and done. It did also asked me to update the firmware and everything was ok after the update. The integration of my LED GE Link 90W PAR38 and 60W PAR19 lights was easy and it finished without any issues. The Hub supports the following protocols and products: Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Z-Wave, Lutron ClearConnect, and Kidde. Wink selected Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Z-Wave and BTLE because they are powerful and already used across many products and categories today. It looks like the product has gone thru some mayor updates recently for what I read. After I added the GE Link lights, I moved to add my ZWave SCHLAGE deadbolt and the setup was easy and quick (make sure that you have handy your program code). I also added my Honeywell Wifi home thermostat and it is working great. I was also impressed with Wink tech support, as they were knowledgeable about the product and even answered some questions about the Amazon Echo setup and integration with the Wink Hub. so far I will recommend this product as it is a very inexpensive quick way to add automation to your home devices. On the other hand there is the Wink App that I think needs some work, and for what I got from the Wink tech support they continuously are improving it. With the app you can set up or schedule lights to turn On or off at a desired time or date. It also supports IFTTT that is a web-based service that allows users to create chains of simple conditional statements, called "Robots", which are triggered based on changes to other events such as unlocking a door turn the lights on your hallway. IFTTT is an abbreviation of "If This Then That" (pronounced like "gift" without the "g"). The only issue that I notice is that when you turn a group of lights On, they do not turn On all at the same time and some times there is a delay once you issue the command that a bout a second. I read some of the other reviews with issues and so far for me the money and the wide variety of products and protocols this Wink Hub is great. It has been working ok, and if I detect any more issues I will update my review.
