It DOES work... BUT here is the disclaimer!!! I am on my 3rd one of these...let me explain... the first one I put on the rail when the crib was brand new and free of "damage" (we'll get back to this point later). It was perfect...it protected the rail and at the same time offered a gummy teething area for my baby. Loved it. The gummi rail cover lasted her entire time in the crib. Once she was old enough I removed it as the instructions said and there were no issues. Now... baby #2 comes and before I get a chance to put the gummi rail cover on (a new one as I discarded the old one) he chews the rail so I rush to buy a second one and I put it on, cleaning it with alcohol as advised in the instructions. BUUUUT.... I ignored the part in the instructions that says, "if your crib's finish has already been marred by teething, please note that the paint finish may be loose in those areas. It may be necessary to lightly sand those areas before applying gummi rail to ensure the finish will not lift up with the adhesive. DO NOT adhere over teething marks. Locate adhesive strip below area of damage." So of course what happened? What I suppose is happening to the people who have posted bad reviews...it lifts off starting right in the area with the already present teeth marks. (See pics). Duhhhh I didn't sand it ( because really, who has time for that) or even stick it under the "marred area" as instructed. So here is my review... I think it's great if the crib is new and/or without teething markings. It sticks well and is easy to put on just clean with alcohol and remove 3m sticky tape backing and apply. Now if you have a crib that's already marred...you are at your own risk because I haven't tried sanding and applying under as instructed so I can't say but I will be updating this review as soon as I do since I have purchased rail cover #3. (I personally do believe it will work). Anyways hope this was helpful!
