This is a beach shoe meant for sand and small rocks. I didn't notice the ''barefoot'' designation when I ordered them, so that's on me . I used them at a river. They're not really good for places with larger than pea size gravel.. These shoes got a lot of compliments on looks. As I floated down the river, I could hear people mentioning how cool they look, with some inquiries on where to get them. No sand or rocks inside the shoes. They drained and dried well. I actually really like these shoes and recommend them for places with sand or very small rocks. Great shoes.
